yesterday some friends and i took a trip up north to chicago; we got the chance to visit the art institute. while there, we were able see an enormous exhibit of photographs taken by henri cartier-bresson, paintings by pablo picasso, drawings and paintings by salvador dali, and countless other artists. needless to say, the trip was so inspiring.
during our trip, i was able to snap some photographs. i've really been interested in black and white photography lately, so i took some black and white film with me and felt like i got some decent shots. i haven't gotten the film developed yet (i've still got plenty of photos to shoot before the roll is finished), but i'll upload some of the shots when i get the prints.
after we were finished visiting the art institute, we took a walk down michigan avenue and found a great coffeehouse, caribou coffee. the coffee was wonderful, and the conversations were just as good. we also met a man outside the shop selling some of his artwork. he was an interesting guy; we got to meet him and here some of his story.
overall, it was such a successful day. great conversations, inspiration, and photographs.
i hope there are more days like this in the future.
